It was an honour and a privilege for Mia James to work within The Science and Industry Museum Manchester. One of the most famous industrial buildings in Europe and we were so proud to be part of that!
A previous prestigious client recommended Mia James due to our expertise in bespoke commercial builds. We then worked closely with an award-winning London based architect in the hope of developing a project which would be sympathetic with this historic building and its original scheme. New technology meeting 250 years of innovation! We asked ourselves if it really was possible to make this already truly outstanding building smarter and decided to relish the challenge!
As part of the £5 million restoration project, Mia James was thrilled to be chosen to refurbish 725 square meters of flexible special exhibition gallery space.
This Grade II listed warehouse which was built in 1882 to provide storage for the Great Western Railway, has been transformed by Mia James’s forward thinking unique approach both internally and externally.
As a Manchester based bespoke construction company, we were absolutely thrilled to be given the opportunity to showcase our expertise and experience. Additionally, this project allowed us to exhibit what this beautiful city has to offer. And in our hometown!!
Mia James have built bespoke many projects across the Northwest, but this project has a special place in our hearts. We were inspired by the museum as children and now as adults which will carry through to the next generation. Essentially, this project has shaped our ideology which is now forever present.
Approximately 700,000 people visit this awe-inspiring building each year. Mia James aimed to inspire future generations in the hope that they achieve what they are born to do!
In the face of the world pandemic and certainly in the face of adversity Mia James battled through a tremendously difficult year to ensure the project was delivered on time and within budget.
We offered a full design and engineering package with the build together with intensive consultation alone spanned 14 months.
This truly magnificent building breathed life into our designs. We provided a turnkey package which allowed the project to be delivered under one roof. A truly bespoke service and one of which we will be forever proud.
